Warren & Mason

Mason needed a mentor that was able to encourage and willingly help Mason reach his potential. He was introduced to Big Brother, Lt. Colonel Warren Christopher in 2014 and Mason learned they had a lot in common. They soon became friends, brothers, and, more importantly, Warren became the father-figure Mason needed him to be.

Alison & Awilda

Awilda and Alison were originally matched through our Bigs In Schools Program
at Bruce-Monroe Elementary School in Washington, DC. Their relationship
blossomed from the school-based to a community-based match where activities
could be enjoyed outside of school.

Bianca & Alejandra

When Bianca and Alejandra were first matched, Alejandra was introverted and barely managed to smile. Bianca was an extrovert and full of joy despite the challenges she had faced in her life. Alejandra needed someone joyful to make her smile again and after meeting Bianca for the first time, she couldn’t stop laughing at her jokes. They became an unfathomable match!

Kendall & Adriana

Big Sister Kendall felt an immediate connection when she met Little Sister Adriana in 2014. At a very young age, Adriana had faced unfortunate scenarios, with her dad incarcerated and her mother, Fanny, having to raise Adriana and sibling, Joseph, on her own. Now matched, both Kendall and Adriana participate in various activities together, such as playing soccer, pottery painting, running a 5K, or just chatting about doing random acts of kindness, manners, and talking about her favorite person in the world, her mom.
