As an Executive Sales Director at Biomet and former volunteer for local senior residents with disabilities and medical issues, Kendall Adams is committed to succeeding professionally and to giving back to her community. With a good childhood and wonderful family and friends, she hopes to share the love and connection she got through her life with a child in need.

Kendall felt an immediate connection when she met Adriana in 2014. At a very young age, Adriana had faced some unfortunate scenarios. Her father was incarcerated when she was 5 years old, leaving her mother, Fanny, to take on the responsibility of raising Adriana and her sibling Joseph on her own.

Adriana is very talented, enjoying almost every sport and excelling in her academics. She was highly recommended to BBBSNCA mentoring program because she addressed some emotional issues due to missing aspects of her old home environment.  She is sensitive knowing that her dad is not around and trying to move on about why her father is incarcerated. In addition to some self-esteem issues and concerns about not having a regular family, she has been left with deep rooted issues with trust and disappointments.

After her match with Kendall, Adriana has experienced a range of healthy activities, from playing Soccer, learning pottery painting, running together a 5K or just chatting with Kendall about to do random acts of love and kindness, learning good manners or talking about her favorite person in the world, her mom.

Adriana continues to learn more about what it means to be a trustworthy, accountable young person. Kendall understands better than anybody how challenging it can be to connect with someone with those particular issues.  Her compassion and caring, plus the blessing of having a supportive loving mother, have informed her world view.

“After 2 years of this wonderful journey Adriana is a very outgoing child, eager to learn, and curious to everything around her with a unique and positive can do attitude.” says Kendall.

“Kendall helps me to think about everyday leadership and to think about everyone and to do random acts of kindness” says Adriana.

“Adriana is unstoppable and her options are limitless! Her resilience and grit is truly the key to determining her long term success and happiness” says BBBSNCA caseworker.

Kendall and Adriana are committed to sticking together in the long run and seeing the end results of their plans!  Building Confidence, Courage and Integrity is just the beginning!
