Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area Wins Nationally Acclaimed Platinum Award

WASHINGTON, D.C., Jun 27, 2024—Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area (BBBSNCA) is proud to announce that it has been honored with the prestigious Platinum Award by Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. This award is granted to Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies that have demonstrated exceptional growth in match retention, program expansion, and positive impact on the youth community. 

The Platinum Award was presented to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area (BBBSNCA) at the National Conference in Dallas, Texas, in late June. This marks the second time the organization has received this coveted recognition. 

“Receiving the Platinum Award is a tremendous honor for us,” said Michael Sanzi, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area. “It reflects the dedication and hard work of our staff, volunteers, and mentors who make a positive difference in the lives of our local youth every day.” 

To celebrate this significant achievement, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area held a staff luncheon to recognize the commitment and perseverance of its team members and volunteers. 

Continued Commitment 

As the organization looks to the future, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the National Capital Area (BBBSNCA) plans to expand its programs and initiatives, thanks to a recent grant award from Montgomery County. The receipt of this new grant will allow the organization to serve an even greater number of young individuals and continue to make a lasting impact on the DC Metro area communities in DC, Maryland, and Virginia.
